One of the key indicators for the quality of life of life human being is the level of independent livings on leads. In the case persons with disabilities negotiating the paths towards independent livings needs more and untiring efforts than the non-disable.
The children with intellectual  disabilities need more and more support from the families and communities as compared to other disabilities. Jibanjyoti Welfare Association for Mentally and Physically Handicapped always drives its efforts relentlessly to inclusion of the mentally challenged in the mainstream of the society, by which the mentally retarded live  independently with full participation and dignity. The institution has always taken steps for empowering the intellectual disabilities personal adequacy, Social Competency and Vocational effency is the goal of the institutions. The school not only provides the education but it became a center of excellence in the field of mentally challenged.
Remarkable changes in infrastructure of our institution are being made during the year 2008-09 with an aim to establish barrier free and right based society. We always indebtable thanks to smt. Ranjana Chopra (IAS), Smt. Uhsa Padhee (IAS), Sj. S.N. Girish (IAS),the then Collector of Dhenkanal & Sj. Snjib Chopra,(IAS), then Director of O.M.C . Bhubaneswar Whose inspiration and enormous help and guidance is remarkable for ever.
The organization is thankful to ministry of social justice & Empower , Govt. of India , W & C.D. Department, Govt. of Orissa, National Trust, NIMH, NIRTAR, District Collector, Dhenkanal, Sarva sikshya Aviyan, Dhenkanal School And Mass Education Orissa, Orissa state mining Corporation & District Social Welfare Officer Dhenkanal for sanction of financial assistance and technical guidance & Co-operation.
At this juncture, I Welcome to the member of general Body and Governing Body for their Co-operation and dedication work to Disability. At the end I always appraise the staff’s and social workers of jibanjyoti that dedication is remarkable and highly conducive.
